These rules explain how TradeYard works for auctions, fixed-price listings, messages, and direct buyer/seller transactions.
General rules
TradeYard is a Canadian auction and marketplace platform for connecting buyers and sellers.
Users must provide accurate listing information and communicate honestly.
Users are responsible for checking item condition, price, pickup terms, delivery terms, and payment method before completing a deal.
Accounts and user responsibility
Each user is responsible for their own account activity.
Do not share your password or allow another person to use your account for suspicious activity.
Do not create duplicate accounts to avoid restrictions, ratings, moderation, or previous account history.
Listings
Listings must have a clear title, accurate description, correct category, location, price or auction terms, and real photos when possible.
Do not use misleading photos, fake condition claims, hidden fees, or bait-and-switch pricing.
Use multiple photos for items where condition matters.
Auctions and bidding
Bids are placed in Canadian dollars.
A valid bid must meet or exceed the minimum next bid shown on the listing page.
Sellers cannot bid on their own listings.
If a valid bid is placed in the final 1 minute, the auction end time is extended by 4 minutes.
Payment, pickup, delivery, and inspection
TradeYard does not process item payments, does not hold deposits, and does not provide escrow in this MVP.
Buyers and sellers arrange payment method directly between themselves.
Buyers should inspect the item before payment whenever possible.
Messages, questions, and conduct
Use messages to ask about condition, pickup, delivery, payment method, schedule, and listing accuracy.
Public questions on a listing should be relevant to the item.
No spam, threats, harassment, impersonation, or attempts to manipulate ratings.
Prohibited or restricted content
No weapons, firearm parts, ammunition, illegal drugs, controlled substances, alcohol, nicotine, prescription medication, counterfeit goods, stolen property, fraud, adult explicit content, dangerous chemicals, hazardous materials, explosives, or illegal activity.
Moderation and enforcement
TradeYard may edit, hide, reject, remove, or suspend listings that break rules or create risk for users.
Accounts may be limited or suspended for fraud, spam, unsafe conduct, repeated rule violations, or abuse of the platform.
