TradeYard rules

These rules explain how TradeYard works for Auction lots, Fixed Price item listings, local Services, messages, and direct user transactions.

General rules

TradeYard is a Canadian marketplace for Auction lots, Fixed Price item listings, and local Services. Users must provide accurate listing or service information and communicate honestly. Users are responsible for checking item condition, service scope, price, pickup terms, delivery terms, schedule, and payment method before completing a deal.

Accounts and user responsibility

Each user is responsible for their own account activity. Do not share your password or allow another person to use your account for suspicious activity. Do not create duplicate accounts to avoid restrictions, ratings, moderation, or previous account history.

Listing and service accuracy

Listings must have a clear title, accurate description, correct category, location, price or auction terms, and real photos when useful. Service posts must describe the work offered, provider base, service coverage, availability, and whether a quote is required. Do not use misleading photos, fake condition claims, hidden fees, bait-and-switch pricing, or unclear service offers.

Auction lots and bidding

Bids are placed in Canadian dollars on Auction listings only. A valid bid must meet or exceed the minimum next bid shown on the listing page. Sellers cannot bid on their own listings. If a valid bid is placed in the final 1 minute, the auction end time is extended by 4 minutes. After an auction ends with a winner, buyer and seller arrange payment, pickup, delivery, and inspection directly.

Fixed Price item listings

Fixed Price listings show the seller price and do not accept bids. Buyers use Contact Seller to respond to a Fixed Price listing and open or reuse the listing conversation. Contact Seller is not an item payment, deposit, reservation, escrow, or guarantee that the seller will sell the item.

Service listings

Service listings are for local work or help, not auction bidding. Providers must describe service coverage clearly because buyers search by the area served, not only the provider base location. Users must confirm scope, schedule, materials, access, price or quote, cancellation terms, and payment method before work begins.

Free publication and promotions

Auction publication, Fixed Price item publication, Service publication, relisting, Contact Seller, Boost, Featured, and platform promotion tools are free while launch pricing is active. Item and service payments are still arranged directly between users.

Payment, pickup, delivery, and inspection

TradeYard does not process item or service payments, does not hold deposits, and does not provide escrow for direct user transactions. Users arrange payment method directly between themselves. Buyers should inspect items before payment whenever possible and confirm service scope before work begins.

Messages, questions, and conduct

Use messages to ask about condition, pickup, delivery, payment method, service scope, schedule, and listing accuracy. New Fixed Price item conversations must start through Contact Seller on the listing page unless TradeYard gives another official entry point. Public questions on a listing should be relevant to the item or service. No spam, threats, harassment, impersonation, or attempts to manipulate ratings.

Prohibited or restricted content

No weapons, firearm parts, ammunition, illegal drugs, controlled substances, alcohol, nicotine, prescription medication, counterfeit goods, stolen property, fraud, adult explicit content, dangerous chemicals, hazardous materials, explosives, or illegal activity.

Moderation and enforcement

TradeYard may edit, hide, reject, remove, or suspend listings that break rules or create risk for users. Accounts may be limited or suspended for fraud, spam, unsafe conduct, repeated rule violations, or abuse of the platform.
